Thanks for putting in the work that needs to be done. I was completely bed and housebound from April-September with a bad back. Couldn't sit, drive, or do any but the most basic tasks. I am now recovering and there are so many deferred tasks that need to be done.

So I appreciate those of you who have been fighting in the trenches.

BTW Ann, where will your art sale be held on Dec 6th?

Sheesh -- that sounds uncomfortable to say the least.

It will be Black Dog in Snoqualmie Saturday Dec 6 - probably in the evening, but they haven't listed it yet. If you want something but can't travel, I can certainly send something to you. I'll list what's available soon.

always your pal, Ann

You are the bomb Anne!!

A frog mug is perfect! I think it should say resist on the side of it. If you do that man, I will save my shekel and buy one.

Alright then! I might just make different ones.

So glad to hear from you.

Damn being old, rain, darkness, distance, -this government and reasons that keep us from visiting.

Ann,

Thank you for putting this out into the world and doing your part in your community. Your sentiments are so universal! A multiplier!

My mother used to say that when problems seem too big and too insurmountable, at least you can try to hold up your corner tent pole. A university professor, who was a scholar of Hannah Arendt, actually challenged that notion - a corner of the tent is not enough.

I was there that evening with Elizabeth Bishop at JB’s house. I don’t remember what she said - just her presence and a sense of thrill. Artists are generous.

Keep making art.

Thanks so much. And yes, I am so glad you remember being there as well. It was amazing, but the sort of thing you look back on think -- did that actually happen?

And yes, I put this out so I can keep somehow in touch with people in my world, like you! There are a lot of us -- lets get this tent up.

Dear Ann,

Your posts always lighten my spirits and remind me of the importance of staying grounded in what you love. Your art is inspired-and inspiring- and puts me in a creative mood. My grounding, of course, is my menagerie, forty-two and counting, (not all in the house, but I was the “cat lady” of Bainbridge Island in the ‘90s).

I’ve been reading Thomas Paine’s writings for clarity of argument regarding this current nonsense that the founders clearly warned us about.

“The world is my country,

All mankind are my brethren,

And to do good is my religion”

Thomas Paine

I think your frog mugs could say “Cacophony in Numbers!”.

With love🤗

Jim

Staying grounded is so hard right now. I probably sound braver than I feel. Sheesh -- this is rough.

But again, it's knowing you are my pal that helps out. I like Paine's sentiments.

I'll make you a mug with that!
